About
Lauren was born in Austin, Texas and obtained her Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego in Chemistry. Lauren earned her Ph.D. at Northwestern University studying the molecular basis of genetic, skin, and heart diseases.
As an AP Giannini fellow at UCLA and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Lauren studied developmental biology and cancer cell metabolism with Edward De Robertis. The long-term vision of the Albrecht lab is to design and implement novel therapies towards the diseases that plague our society the most.
